A favourite with our Hens & celebratory bookings, come and compete for the title of Star Baker!
You’ll be greeted with Prosecco and canapés on arrival as you and your group get to meet the chefs you’ll be working with in the kitchen. You’ll be split into teams before tackling your two bakes or cakes. Our chefs will give you a demonstration of what you’re about to master and then leave you and your team together to go through the recipe and method cards before Baking Off.
In the first half of the session you’ll get those bakes in the oven, and then take a breather over lunch whilst you wait for the bakes to cook and cool. Back into the workshop to show off your decorating skills. Our chefs will show you some patisserie tricks before letting you loose on the finale of your Bake Off challenge.
Please note, all tuition, ingredients, dining and drinks (wine, beer & soft drinks) are included in the cover charge – you just need to arrive with an appetite for fun and good food at Brighton Cookery School, we’ll take care of the rest.

Had such a fun time at my Nieces Hen Night. Ben was excellent. He organised a bake-off, whereby we baked our own desserts, whilst our dinner was being cooked, and although I am not a baker, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Soft Meringue Roulade and Profiteroles were to die for. Thoroughly recommend this venue for any occasion. Well done Ben!
I went on my own to do a macaron masterclass and I had a marvellous time! Great teachers and really nice people
Had such a fun time with my friends and really enjoyed learning new cooking skills! Would definitely recommend.
I cannot rate Ben and his wonderful team highly enough. This was a fabulous activity. We were greeted with Prosecco and canapes, followed by as much wine as we could consume. Ben talked us through the process of making a fruit roulade with Chantilly cream and a chocolate fondant pudding, all step by step so it was really easy to follow. All ingredients and equipment are provided and laid out, as soon as you have finished with an item the team swoop into action and clear up for you – it’s wonderful! Whilst we were creating our desserts, Ben’s team were busy preparing our lunch – it was superb in flavour and quality. Our silliness was tolerated, in fact encouraged and we had such a laugh. Anything that we didn’t eat on the day was kept in their fridges overnight so that we could collect them the next day before travelling back from Brighton. These guys clearly love their jobs, thank you for providing such a wonderful afternoon.
Brighton Cookery School graciously hosted our Brighton Youth Centre ‘Bake Off’ which was filmed for the annual Youth Film Festival. Lel and the team were brilliant! The young people had loads of fun learning how to make a wicked chocolate fondant which was immediately consumed, mostly by me! Thanks BCS for supporting our Brighton young people!
Just to say thank you again to Ben for his macaron private lesson. Deborah had a wonderful morning with him and really enjoyed her birthday treat. Plus I got to sample what they made!
