At Brighton cookery school we provide fun, uncomplicated and professional cooking lessons, combined with a relaxed social atmosphere where you can drink, chat and maybe learn a thing or two as well!
You’ll be greeted with Prosecco and nibbles on arrival, the perfect way to start your party! Then under the guidance of our highly qualified chefs you will be preparing three delicious courses learning all the tricks of the trade, whilst you enjoy a few(!) more glasses of wine in our Restaurant Experience. We also offer our Brighton Bake Off, Cookery Challenge & Canapé Creations as well as bespoke party sessions, so if your Hen or Stag has a passion for a particular style of cuisine or really wants to master something in the kitchen, let us know and we’ll create a session to suit.
You will learn how to prepare food to Michelin standards but you can take it as seriously as you desire, it is a party after all. After the lesson you will be seated in our private dining room and be served the food you have just prepared, matched with some great wines. We recreate a restaurant experience with food you cooked and the best part is – we do all the dishes! Don’t forget all ingredients, tuition, protective aprons and wine, beer and soft drinks are included in our session cover charges!
You will have exclusive use of our workshop, chefs and dining area. I cannot rate Ben and his wonderful team highly enough. This was a fabulous activity. We were greeted with Prosecco and canapes, followed by as much wine as we could consume. Ben talked us through the process of making a fruit roulade with Chantilly cream and a chocolate fondant pudding, all step by step so it was really easy to follow. All ingredients and equipment are provided and laid out, as soon as you have finished with an item the team swoop into action and clear up for you – it’s wonderful! Whilst we were creating our desserts, Ben’s team were busy preparing our lunch – it was superb in flavour and quality. Our silliness was tolerated, in fact encouraged and we had such a laugh. Anything that we didn’t eat on the day was kept in their fridges overnight so that we could collect them the next day before travelling back from Brighton. These guys clearly love their jobs, thank you for providing such a wonderful afternoon.
This has been an amazing experience! Very friendly, passionate and welcoming people! So much fun! Not even mentioning amazing food! Thumbs up!
As the Mother of the Bride, please pass on my thanks for a really superb evening. I’ve recently discussed other similar events and ours was far superior – and Auntie Teresa was impressed that the wine kept flowing throughout. Two of our hens have since been busy and will have soon have saved the cost of their lessons with their savings in buying a whole bird and chopping and freezing. Thank you once again for making our hen party such a success, 100% satisfaction from an uneasy to please group, is really an achievement thank you.

I organised a hen party at Brighton Cookery School for 11 ladies. The organisation from speaking on the telephone with Ben to booking this, via email, went really smoothly. We had a really great time on the day as well. We started with Prosecco and our hosts were generous, opening another bottle when needed, we learned how to make our own pasta and how to trim lamb properly and perhaps most importantly how to make a chocolate fondant Chef Ben was hugely entertaining and engaging throughout and we were all rewarded with a table downstairs to eat our efforts, whilst being waited on by Ben and his Assistant. What a lovely afternoon and evening, could not recommend this more highly. With an activity, meal and drinks included, I think this also provided excellent value for money and a much classier activity for a Hen than most other options. A big thanks to all the team at Brighton Cookery School – we look forward to receiving the recipes!
Started off my hen activities here and was loved by all. It was real good fun and scrummy food too. Ben was able to handle the banter so big thanks to him and his marvellous team! Would come again. Top Form!
Having attended Melanie’s hen party i can confirm a lesson at the Brighton Cookery School is a top notch way to celebrate any event. We had a great fun filled time. The food was excellent and everyone at the school was welcoming, friendly and extremely accommodating. Great fun and educational too. As ‘Arnie’ says, ‘we’ll be back’!
I just wanted to drop you and your magnificent team a note to say a huge THANK YOU for making Tara’s hen party cooking session so brilliantly fun. We all came out feeling like we’d learned something (I’ve since filleted fish twice now!) and we had a fantastic time. The day was perfectly structured, and you played such a big part in making it feel both special and memorable.
We all had the best time…and learnt lots of new tricks. Something we will definitely make again at home.

Came to Brighton Cookery School for a stag do, great tuition with a sense of humour. I highly recommend this place!
